Hacienda Venecia in Lonely Planet

Hacienda Venecia, a Colombian coffee farm located in the traditional coffee region of Manizales, Caldas has always been known for its professionalism. The farm belongs to a family that has four generations of experience in coffee production in Colombia. Hacienda Venecia's achievements have been recognized now by external parties, too. Nowadays, there is a growing interest in coffee tours where visitors have the opportunity to learn about coffee producing processes in the fields. Along this trend the Lonely Planet has visited farms in Colombia and in the Caldas region they have chosen Hacienda Venecia. The Lonely Planet team took an exciting and informative tour around the farm where the whole process from harvest to cleaning and drying was explained to them. Finally they were able to taste the great quality of Hacienda Venecia coffee, when they got served an espresso made by the coffee beans that the Lonely Planet team picked themselves!
Hacienda Venecia was the first farm that became UTZ CERTIFIED in Colombia and since then it has implemented several projects to improve the social and environmental conditions on the farm. UTZ CERTIFIED congratulates the farm on the successes that it has already achieved and wishes Juan Pablo Echeverri and the team all the success with his farm and hostel!
