UTZ CERTIFIED is financed by income from its program fees and subsidies.

UTZ CERTIFIED's ambition is to become self-financing from its administrative fees for its core activities. UTZ CERTIFIED's administration fee is $ 0.012 per lb. of green coffee paid by the first buyer of UTZ CERTIFIED coffee. In 2009, income from fees covers approximately 1/2 of UTZ CERTIFIED's total expenses. The remaining funding is provided by several Dutch NGO's and the European Union.
