Consumption sustainable coffee increases by 35 percent

During the first half of this year, the consumption of sustainably sourced coffee increased by 35 percent compared to the same period last year. This shows from the sales figures of UTZ CERTIFIED Good Inside. The increase means an improvement in working conditions and an improvement in the competitive position of UTZ CERTIFIED coffee farmers all over the world. Farmers are trained in improving their social, environmental and business practices leading to increased quantity and quality of their coffee and also a stronger position on the world market. The sales of UTZ CERTIFIED coffee increased to 59.323 metric tons by the end of June 2010. That is almost 16.000 metric tons more than was sold during the same period last year.
